Looking for an easy dry ranch dressing mix that you can make out of your herb and spices shelf? It works great as a buttermilk ranch dressing or even used as a dry powder, sprinkled on food before cooking.
While you don’t have to, you can gently grind up the herbs nd spices to a powder, which dissolves in the dressing more easily.
Unlike commercial dry mixes, this doesn’t contain added seed oils, MSG, or heavy amounts of sodium.

Dry Ranch Dressing Mix
Ingredients:
- ¼ cup dried parsley
- 2 Tbsp granulated onion
- 2 Tbsp granulated garlic
- 1 Tbsp freeze-dried chives
- 1 tsp dried dill weed
- 1 tsp ground black pepper
- ½ tsp dried thyme, crumbled
- ½ tsp fine sea salt
Directions:
Mix all the ingredients together, store in a tightly sealed glass jar.
If desired, whirl the ingredients in a blender to break up a bit (this will cause settling, so adjust for that when measuring the dry mix, divide in half, instead of measuring it out).
Will make two batches of dry mix.
Buttermilk Ranch Dressing
Ingredients:
- 2 Tbsp dry ranch dressing mix (or half if you blended it)
- 1 cup mayonasise
- 1 up buttermilk
Directions:
Add the ingredients to a bowl, whisk until well mixed.
Pour into a pint mason jar and seal. Shake well before using.
Store chilled and use up within a couple of days for the best taste.
Makes about two batches.
