Fluffy biscuits warm from the oven are a treat, but I have never enjoyed the extra work of kneading and rolling out biscuits. Whereas a good drop biscuit cuts out half of the labor.
These are excellent for serving with a soup or chowder, or even better? Make up sausage gravy and ladle it over the biscuits.

- ¾ tsp cream of tartar
- ¾ cup cold unsalted butter (1½ sticks)

Grate the cold butter into a mixing bowl.
Add in the dry ingredients, and mix with your fingers until the butter is fully incorporated.
Stir in the milk till a dough comes together.
Drop 12 portions on the baking sheet.
Bake for 14 minutes, or until golden.
