Pizza in a portable biscuit form? Yes! All the flavors, none of the mess. Though these pizza baking powder biscuits would taste great with a bowl of warmed pizza or marinara sauce to dip in!
Pizza Baking Powder Biscuits
Ingredients:
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 Tbsp baking powder
- 2 Tbsp granulated sugar
- 2 tsp fine sea salt
- 1 Tbsp dried parsley
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 12 Tbsp unsalted butter
- 2 cups milk
- 4 sticks string cheese, cut into thin coins
- ½ package natural pepperoni slices, chopped
Directions:
Preheat oven to 425°. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
Whisk flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, and herbs in a mixing bowl. Dice up butter, work into flour with fingers, until crumbly. Add in milk, sweep into a dough.
Mix in cheese and pepperoni.
Sprinkle a bit of extra flour on a work area, knock out dough.
Sprinkle a bit of flour on top, pat out into a rectangle, about an inch thick.
Cut into 12 biscuits using a bench scraper, transfer biscuits to baking sheet, with a little space between each.
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until turning golden on top.
Serve warm, refrigerate any leftover biscuits once cooled.
